ShareHavant is part of Solent Remade, which is a Community Interest Company, not run for profit and with no shareholders. We aren’t aiming to make money (although we do have to cover our costs) but we have two principle aims.
First, we want to help our local community to save money. The easiest way to spend less is to buy less, so that means making better use of what we already have and keeping it running for longer. Also, rather than buying everything we need, especially things we don’t need very often, just borrow them.
Second, we want to help the environment. We aim to do that by reducing the raw materials we take from our planet and, by avoiding the temptation to keep throwing away old things and buying new ones, to reduce the amount of “stuff” in the world. Reduce the landfill. Reduce the energy consumption. Tread more lightly on the world. Leave something for our children and grandchildren to enjoy.
ShareHavant is not a campaigning group, but focuses on practical activities that will make a difference to daily life.
